RoomaMD operates at the intersection of healthcare, real estate, and finance. Each of those domains demands rigorous safety standards. We take all three seriously, and we'll never trade safety for growth.
Credentials
RoomaMD is a marketplace, not a regulator, we do not perform Primary Source Verification of practitioner licenses. Practitioners share their licensing College and registration number when they book. On each reservation, the host gets a one-click link to that College's free public register, Ontario's source of truth on who is registered and in good standing under RHPA section 23. Hosts configure per-listing credential requirements and review each practitioner's uploaded documents via a watermarked, audit-logged viewer before accepting bookings.
Insurance
Hosts carry a minimum of $2M commercial general liability insurance. Their certificate of insurance is uploaded during host onboarding and admin-reviewed before the host can publish a listing. Practitioners upload their own professional liability insurance to their profile; hosts review it per-booking via the same credential viewer. We surface the documents the parties have shared; we do not act as an insurance broker or guarantor of coverage.
Dispute Resolution
Every booking is backed by our dispute process. Submit a dispute within 48 hours of a session, our team reviews evidence from both parties and responds within 2 business days. For high-value disputes, we offer a formal non-binding mediation track before recommending next steps, including the courts of Ontario where needed.
PHI Safeguards
When you compose a message, RoomaMD shows a private, on-device reminder if it notices patterns that look like protected health information, OHIP numbers, diagnoses, or patient identifiers. That reminder runs in your browser only, RoomaMD does not monitor, scan on our servers, or store your messages for PHI. We take PIPEDA and PHIPA seriously and the platform is not a permitted channel for clinical care or PHI exchange.
Off-Platform Circumvention
To protect all parties, bookings must be made through RoomaMD. Our system detects phone numbers, email addresses, and external links in messages and warns both parties. Transactions made off-platform are not covered by our dispute resolution or refund guarantees.
